[ Knowing that Simon wasn't human gave him a small amount of comfort. Humans hated his kind. He was neither human nor vampire while still being equal parts of both. This frightened some. And that fear often transferred into anger and hate. If Simon could understand that then they were already farther along than D could have hoped for. ]
There's another who I am considering for a contract. He is a dhampir.
[ It would be simple to choose Alucard. He could protect others if D ever were in a situation where he succumbed to bloodlust. Simon appealed in a similar way, but he also offered up something that was more enticing than a contract. Something that no other in this place could. It takes very little for D to change his mind and ask for something that would suit him better. ]
What if that was something I wanted instead? You would be taking care of me in a way that is more than anyone else can do.
[ Simon was very unique. ]
We're required to have sex. My blood hurts humans. Their blood hurts me. [ It takes away his control. ] It does the same to vampires and dhampirs.
But you do not bleed. If we laid together I could not hurt you. Do you understand what that would mean to someone like me?
[He's glad they can agree on things so far. It seemed like the both of them were pretty straight forward when it came to these things, which made it easy to figure out if this contract would work. Simon most definitely understood that sort of fear back home. Humans had a lot of anger towards his people for replacing them in many fields, taking their jobs, for looking so much like them but on the inside not being the same.
It made it easier to hate something that wasn't exactly like them. He could only imagine what it must be like being part human and part something that's often considered a monster. A killer. D didn't seem like any of that, at least at face value.]
If that's something you want then of course. It would benefit both of us here.
[His brows pinch together a little as D explains why they would be a compatible match sexually.]
I... yes, that would be a relief I imagine. Being able to be with someone and not have that worry over your heads, but- I can bleed. It's not blood like any humans, it's man made, so it shouldn't hurt you.
[ D wasn't far removed from other vampires. He was a monster. If he drank blood then he was insatiable, powerful, and it took too much to stop him. He didn't want to go down that path here so he was careful about his partners and experiences. ]
It's a relief I've never known. You could offer me something new.
[ But he does bleed. Man-made but still. ]
Would you allow me to taste you?
[ His brows furrow and he leans forward, eyes roaming over Simon's face. It might not be human but he still expressed himself in ways that were unique. A person was a person and Simon was special. He could be connection without fear. ]
[ ooc: I'd love to come up with something cool that happens if D drinks Simon's blood. Something specific to Simon. ]
That's... unfortunate, but if I can give that to you I'd be willing to.
[Through no fault of D's own, he wasn't able to do such things without endangering himself and others. It's sad really, but it's not pity that has Simon wanting to give him this experience. He's curious, but at the same time wants D to be able to feel and have this. Like Simon's first time, being able to feel everything, to understand it all like he never could have before being brought here.
He thinks D deserves that. Even if it's just with him and not with someone who he may care for or love.]
I--
[The question throws him off though, more so because he isn't sure if his "blood" would hurt D or not. It wasn't good for humans, but they went and made drugs with the stuff anyway. Humans had a weird tendency to do that, eat or ingest things that in the long run was detrimental for them.]
Well I suppose if you just wanted to see how it tastes compared to human blood I guess... I wouldn't be able to feed you with it though. My biocomponents can't function without a certain level of Thirium in my system.
[ D was more curious if Simon truly wanted to lay with him. He wasn't human but he responded as if he had a mind of his own. That meant he had to have an opinion on it and D would trust that he didn't feel coerced out of kindness. ]
A drop is all I need to know if it'll hurt me or not.
[ Then they'd both know if this was going to work as freely as D hoped it would or if they'd need to take a step back and recalculate the arrangement. He wouldn't cut off ties if it did cause him pain but there would be a level of care that D had expressed the desire for.
He had that with no one else. Here or back home. ]
We don't have to do it now.
[ Today, tomorrow. In time when Simon was prepared for it. D wouldn't rush when it was something so valuable on the line. ]
[Part of it is kindness, of wanting to help D with the quota they all have weighing over their heads. At least for him to be able to deal with that without having to go through the pain and suffering it usually would be. Part of him is curious too, he's only been with a human, being with another non human could be interesting. Different.
It's not just out of pity, but he'd be lying if he said it wasn't a part of it.]
No, no it's alright, I just hadn't expected it I guess. It won't hurt me, so I'm not afraid of that. It's better to know now, isn't it?
[ D might not want pity but he could understand the reason it would be offered. He was asking for something from Simon that nobody else could give him. He'd take that as it was given. ]
Yes, you're right.
[ He extends a hand. Simon can sit with him if he'd like. D is curious about what Simon is going to do, how he'd share so he can taste D's blood. If he'd react anything near to what a human would. If D will have any reaction. ]
[He'll rise from his chair at the extended hand and moves to come sit beside him. This close D really is interesting to look at, beautiful even. Skin like porcelain, it looked soft... right, he's not here to ogle him.
Simon flounders a bit, thinking of how to do this, fingers tip tapping on his knees.]
My skin is synthetic, but uses thirium, my blood if you will, so I'll still bleed if it's cut or broken.
[Not a lot, but it does. Or I say it does cause it's not ever explained in his canon. Shrugs and does whatever. He would bleed more like an actual human if the white hard plastic of his body under the skin was breached, broken, rendered, but he'd rather not go that far. If he'd had bagged thirium on hand he'd just have D try that, but. Alas he'd not needed any so none on hand.
He tilts his chin up a little.]
... would you prefer doing it here? You won't be able to fully bite, underneath my skin is hard, like I showed you before, but I figured it could be familiar? If that's ignorant of me I'm sorry.
[He only knows of vampires from fiction after all.]
[ D's feature were sharp, cuts and lines and angles that were meant to make him equal parts frightening and beautiful. Appealing to humans. A natural way to draw in prey. He neither holds his appearance in high regards or dislikes that he was fashioned this way. What he values is the quirks in others.
If someone who was not human, like him, could find D attractive then he would only find that endearing. Simon could look at him and know that he's not the same as others. But to see and still continue to look, to sit so closely, it was a behavior that D respected.
He's not sure the best way to do this. Simon was an android and the makeup of his anatomy was wholly different. ]
Will it cause you pain?
[ That was important and something D wanted to prepare for. ] It doesn't matter where. Your neck, your arm. [ Long fingers wrap around Simon's wrist. ] Here.
[There was nothing about him that put fear into Simon, more so just made him more curious. His sharp features were lovely, definitely human looking, but obviously not fully. He liked it. If anything he wanted to know more about him.
He doesn't flinch at the long fingers around his wrist, instead he turns it slightly in D's hold.]
No, I don't feel pain. I can register damage to my body, but it won't "hurt" me. My skin can fix itself yes, I'll be fine.
[ He nods once to acknowledge Simon's inability to feel pain and that he can heal himself. The smile reassures briefly but D's body is tense. Muscles bunched in his shoulders and back, aware. Present. He won't mean to hurt anyone if Simon's blood causes a reaction but he's prepared for the worst.
D leans in and growls low in his chest, teeth elongating. He's careful as he bites Simon's wrist, pricks the skin, and lets the liquid flow into his mouth. He immediately pulls back, eyes closed.
When nothing happens, that he's aware of, a calm settles over his body and he opens his eyes. They're blue, the same color as the Thirium, but D doesn't realize it. ]
Thank you.
[ Now he's satisfied that Simon's blood won't cause a negative reaction. ]
[It feels like the mood has suddenly changed, thicker, tense. Simon is quiet, watching for the most part, but while he doesn't feel pain he can still feel when D bites him. It elicits a soft 'ah' from him, but mostly he's just watching curiously.
Those fangs were something else.
Thankfully nothing terrible seems to happen, D doesn't seem to be in any discomfort or pain from tasting his blood... Simon is relieved when he thanks him, but surprised when he's greeted by blue eyes now.]
Oh- your eyes, do they normally change color when you feed?
[The color is very striking contrasted to his pale skin.]
[ The lack of a physical response is comforting. It affords D a sense of peace he's not be allowed with anyone else. They may still be able to hurt one another but not in the way that would take away all of D's control and put people at risk. ]
They do.
[ D isn't surprised by the comment. ] My eyes turn red when I feed.
[ But was that what Simon meant? The dhampir moves quickly, flits across the room to a mirror to look at his eyes. They're blue. They widen in shock. It's a minor alteration but it's still a change. He's back next to Simon in a matter of moments. ]
[Now Simon is marginally quicker than a regular human, but not like THAT. It's amazing really, meeting others who are different, he's really starting to like it. Simon looks a little frazzled by his speed, but can't help but chuckle softly at the clear surprise D seems to be experiencing.]
I guess you've never had blue blood before. The color looks really nice with your complexion I think.
[Stark white skin and striking blue eyes, it's... pretty.]
